Celebrating Women in Design

We started Aetha Design with a vision to mix our passion for outdoor living with exquisite Product Design. We wanted to use the latest design techniques, the most sustainable materials and the best that modern manufacturing had to offer to deliver products and prototypes which would help drive our clients from initial concepts through to product launch. There was just one problem – we didn’t really know who our clients would be… or what we would be working on.Our backgrounds were varied with a mix of high-end consumer electronics, soft goods and homeware. Since we began, we’ve crossed over a number of hurdles. We got some clients. We got new premises. We hired our first team member and we outgrew our premises so we found a new one! We invested in tools and equipment, but most importantly, we delivered on our promises.Business is an adventure. You know that you’re in for a heap of uncertainty when you first start out. In our case, one factor continues to surprise us. Despite what we read in the press about the lack of women studying STEM subjects and subsequently working in STEM-related industries, 70% of our clients are women! We’re working on personal image products, a number of new beauty products, some homeware innovations and a range for pet lovers – all with one thing in common – they are all pioneered by women. Sophie who works with us in the studio is a big ambassador for women and no one is more delighted when we get another client who happens to be a woman! So on International Women’s Day, we would like to give our support and shout out to not just our current clients who are women who are killing it with their innovative ideas in their relevant industries but also to all the women out there kicking ass in tech, design and manufacturing… we hear you!So a bit of advice from our in house team, ladies stay hungry, don’t worry about saying “this product isn’t quite right for me” or “this could be better” we 100% agree with you and you are not alone. If our clients are anything to go by, you are the future of innovative design. If you have a great idea but don’t know how to turn it into reality, get in touch. The Aetha Team
